This is the second story in a four-part series about Converge’s ministry to mothers in Albania. Read the first story.

Jesus is the hero of Hana’s* (name changed for security purposes) life. She knows he loves her and everyone else, proved by his death on the cross for all people.

She volunteers in ministries that serve mothers of children with special needs in Albania. Jesus’ love and grace have grown her desire to bring all children and their moms into God’s family.

“The whole family can be changed through a good wife, a good mom,” she said. “It’s now in God’s hands to use us completely with all our powers to make something big.”

Converge global workers rely on God’s power to overcome spiritual strongholds among the Muslim people of Albania. The country’s small evangelical church, birthed since the fall of communism, consists of first-generation believers who desire a new generation of disciple makers worshiping Jesus.

The hardship of least-reached people motivated Nita and Ted Bukowski to move to Albania. Now, Nita befriends moms in her neighborhood. By studying Scripture together, moms, children and families are transformed by truth.

“We start with moms and kids,” Hana said. “We are raising a generation that is going to influence others.”

Through Hana’s love, Jesus is making a difference in her country through what she calls the “beautiful stories” in each person’s life. She knows all that is needed is more women loving God and sharing his love.

“Every one of us has a unique story,” she said. “We are gathering to lead other women and to let our hearts flow the love of God.”
