“For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm. A song.
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, Selah that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth. Selah May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you. Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us. God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear him.”

Psalm 67:1-7

As God blesses our churches, may we faithfully reflect his blessings outward that God’s ways would be known on earth and his salvation among the nations. We need God’s help to keep our focus on God and his greatness and to be faithful to recount his blessing to others. God calls us to be selfless with our blessings. What God gives us, he expects us to go and give unto others. We can never hold on to God’s gifts and blessings while still being faithful to the one who has given them to us!

As we look forward to celebrating Easter, let’s ask God to restore our excitement about the resurrection. Because we constantly live in the reality of what Jesus accomplished on the cross, it’s easy to become complacent and apathetic when we hear about Easter and the resurrection. But it’s important that we’re reminded, and we remember the significance of God sending his son to die, so we could be saved. We received salvation when none of us had earned it. That is worth unending praise! We need to ask God to constantly renew and restore our sense of wonder and joy at hearing the lengths God went through to save each and every one of us. And, in turn, we need to ask God to give us the strength to share that blessing with others in our communities!

Today, get with some people from your church to pray. Share with one another how God is working in your church to bring salvation to your community. Celebrate with one how God is moving in each other’s lives and share some ideas on how each of you can pour out the blessings God has given you on your community.

Prayer for Strengthening Churches:
Father God, we are so blessed to be basking in your love and grace. We are overwhelmed at the gift of salvation we have received through Christ. We ask that you continually fill our mouths with praise – the kind of praise that is contagious and will work toward all the peoples praising you as they come to know who you are. Use us to show your love to those within our church and use our church to show your love to those outside the church.
