Lead pastors: Join a cohort

Converge president John K. Jenkins Sr. has made it his signature priority to invest in helping churches across our movement develop a culture of evangelism and discipleship. To move this initiative forward, Converge has partnered with the Wheaton College Billy Graham Center’s Church Evangelism Institute, which has a proven record of success in helping approximately 600 churches grow in conversion and evangelism. Enjoy this testimony from a Converge pastor who has participated in a Church Evangelism Institute cohort and is seeing his church’s culture shift into one with a much greater emphasis on evangelism and discipleship and equipping everyone in the congregation to share God’s love effectively.

Seriously, this cohort challenged me as a lead pastor in all the right ways. Now, with our leadership team, we are challenging the whole congregation of Forefront Church in Denver, Colorado.

I’m sharing my experience because of the potential I see this having, not just in my local church but also throughout our region.

Yes, there is some teaching and equipping that happens. But what carries the day through this two-year cohort are the relationships, connections and ministry camaraderie that are experienced with other pastors. 

If you are a lead pastor looking for a relationally based experience that will challenge you back to the core of your calling and help you reframe your church, evangelism is the right biblical trigger. These relational cohorts will carry the day as you seek to infuse a missional mindset into your congregation.
