Inspired to Dream

There are times when we must create space to unleash the potential we have within an organization. Converge is a strong  movement with an irenic spirit and a passion for seeing people meet, know, and follow Jesus. We are filled with potential!

Imagine if our potential  was set free, and we could dream together about what it would look like for Converge to work collaboratively and creatively to reach the least-reached around the world. Now imagine 10 Send Teams representing all the Converge regions, charting a course to fuller engagement in the Great Commission across our Converge churches. 

Here's an example of what a win looks like. Calvary Fellowship of West Hartford, Connecticut in Converge Northeast , had a desire to revamp its missions ministry. They went through the 2:10 Focus process and chose to be a match to the Metro SenWest Initiative in Senegal, West Africa. In addition to going on a vision trip, one of the members of the 2:10 Focus team went to serve as a [IM]PACT Intern in the summer of 2023 to Senegal. She is now exploring what full-time ministry can look like in answer to God's call on her life. Tania Martin, Director of Mobilization, was able to meet with her and direct her to potential opportunities. All the different areas in Converge International Ministries and the District Send Rep were involved.

On June 25, 2024, at Heartland Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, we took the first step towards realizing this dream and unleashing our full potential. Converge International Ministries hosted the first-ever Regional Send Leaders' meeting on this historic day. Seven out of our ten regions sent representatives. We achieved the goal of the meeting, which was to share wins from current Send Leaders, learn from one another, and strategize about how the role of the Send Leader can be contextualized for the churches in their area. So, regardless of the leader's tenure, each person in attendance had the opportunity to explore the possibilities of the Send role with fresh eyes. 

Now, as exciting as this meeting was, it is only the beginning. We are planning on having quarterly meetings and are praying that these leaders will be catalysts for seeing our Converge churches strategically engaged in what God is doing around the world. Our next meeting is already planned for September 2024.
