Hi friend,
Forgiveness – the lack of it can create a barrier in a relationship. Scripture tells us to forgive; over and over we are to do so. God has forgiven us and continues to forgive. Because of this, Jesus forgave those who persecuted Him and He died a gruesome death on the cross for us. That’s not the end; He arose as He defeated death so we can receive forgiveness. He knew what we needed for a right relationship with God and He loves with more than we can fathom. He said while on the cross, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing,” while the crowds of those who persecuted Him and those who claimed to love Him spit on Him, doubted, and yelled. Is there greater love than this? Than the One who bore our sins so we could be forgiven? Yet when we are sinned against we hold on to situations or we at least begin to build a wall, perhaps a shield so that we aren’t hurt again. We may even bury that hurt. Energy maintains that which is burying it and keeping us from right relationship with others and most importantly with the Lord.
Forgiveness requires change that may be “hard.” It requires action. So take down those bricks. This is a process for us. Sometimes we may not want change, but once we realize our need for it may we take action boldly and humbly. Prepare for battle through the new, the unknown, the PROMISES of God. Joshua told the Israelites as they prepared to cross the Jordan River into the Promised Land that the Lord had prepared them for, “be strong and courageous.” Now through the change, through the forgiveness let’s worship Him. That’s why we’re here and that’s why missions exists – so that the nations would worship Him. Be brave. Make Him known.
God provides healing, teaches through progress, and blesses beyond our desires. The goal to be 44% funded by the end of May was surpassed in a way that we never imagined! We are now 53% funded. God is incredible. Much has happened throughout May including travel through Georgia, moving out of our house and in with family, and taking a Perspectives class that was recommended by our sending agency, Converge. We look forward to sharing more with you about Perspectives – God’s plan for all of the peoples – next month!
Please pray for us in this way:
– Momentum for partnership development to continue
– Our teammates that are moving in the near future to Togo and those that have recently returned to Togo
– Passion for God’s will and love for His people
– Open hearts and eyes to live cross culturally where we are today
– Increase in laborers (missionaries) for the nations
Much love from us always.
Better Together,
Kristen Harwood
