Ministry Update

We are so excited to say that we are well on our way! Currently we have raised 19% of our needed financial support to get on the field. With the hurdles and challenges we’ve had the past year, we are more sure than ever that God is in this with us! It is only through His work that we’ve been able to come this far, and we give Him all the glory.

In December, we received news of a widow living near Nyangombe whose house had partially collapsed due to heavy rains. With the help of the building trainees at Nyangombe, they were able to rework the foundation of the house, rebuild the collapsed wall, and replace the previously thatched roof with a new corrugated metal roof. Widows are particularly vulnerable in this area – not only do they experience the death of their spouse, but they are often blamed for their death. This gives the husband’s family members license to rob the widow of everything she owns, including clothes and the family home. Thankfully, Christianity has caused the practice to wane significantly, but the ministries at Nyangombe continue to play a vital role in the support and care for vulnerable widows such as these.
