Kids’ Thanksgiving 2025

Thirty-five kids and youth reflected on a phrase Japanese people say before EVERY SINGLE meal: ‘Itadakimasu,’ which means to humbly receive in gratitude. But from whom do we receive, and to whom are we thankful? Do we simply say it without truly practicing gratitude—like the son who said ‘yes’ but did not do what he promised (Matthew 21:28~32)? It was a wonderful Thanksgiving conversation.

This fall brought more outreach and spiritual growth opportunities for Japanese children and youth who live among us in Torrance, CA.
