Back in the Swing of Things
Hello again, and long time no see! I imagine many of you may have been wondering, “What ever happened to those Ericksons?” Well, we’re still here and we’re still moving forward, albeit a bit slower than we had anticipated! You may remember from our last letter that we were awaiting approval from the elders in Zambia to officially be on-boarded as missionaries at Nyangombe. We’re happy to say that that we were indeed approved and officially got the “okay” to move forward fully!
In February we found that we weren’t completely thrilled with the presentation we had built to share with potential partners, so we decided to go a different direction and complete a new course in partnership development. In March we completed our coursework and were just about ready to start meeting with people, and then (you guessed it!), COVID hit. With so much unknown about how volatile it was and how quickly it would spread, we felt it was best to lay-low for a while and see how things progressed.
So, we’ve spent the last few months doing more reading and building our presentation, which is now 99.9% ready to go! Of course, COVID is still very much a factor in all of this, but we are cautiously inching forward and are going to start meeting with people, either in-person or via Zoom/Google Meet. God has been so faithful in leading us throughout this journey to the mission field, and we are continuing to fully trust in His timing:
Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
