Happy Thanksgiving
We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We enjoyed Thanksgiving Day with my mom’s side of the family. It is only natural to reflect on the things we are thankful for, and this year in particular, I am so thankful for my family, friends, and all of you who are joining with us as God prepares us to move to Germany as missionaries. My paternal grandfather passed away suddenly from an aneurism the day before Thanksgiving, and I am so reminded of the importance of relationships. It’s so hard to put words on a page of what I am feeling, but I know that Jonas and I want to use our short time here on earth to love others, especially the people who are deemed unloveable by most, and share the gift of life that we have been given.
Mosaik Update
Mosaik Nord was finally able to move in the new building! It once was a Nazi building used to condemn the unwanted to death. Now it is being used in kingdom of God! This building will be used by several congregations and number of weekly ministries. Greater Europe Mission and Israel Academy of Ministry also have offices and hold seminars here.
Health Update
Our fundraising journey has been continuing a lot longer than we expected, but we are very grateful that God is showing us we are right where we are supposed to be. After I had Emma (almost 2 years ago!), my health went downhill. I have been dealing with hormone imbalances, and most days I felt so ill that I could hardly get out of bed, let alone take care of my baby. It has been a long road of trying a lot of different medications, but to no avail.
A few days ago, I got my first Lupron injection, which essentially puts my body into chemical menopause, in order to better control the hormone fluctuations, and hopefully get me feeling back to normal! We should know in about 4 months where we are at with this medication, and will let you know how it’s going, but please pray that this will be what my body needs so we can continue partnership building with churches and individuals and get to Germany! We are so thankful to be figuring out my health on this side of the ocean, and not having to do all of this in another culture, with another language. We are confident that we are on the upwards and cannot wait to get to Germany.
Emma is 22 months old and will be two before we know it. She is definitely acting like an almost two-year-old, but is so sweet and kind. She loves coloring, jumping, and playing outside. I think she would much prefer to live outside if she had a choice. Emma is saying more words in English, German, and Pennsylvania Dutch all the time. As a lover of languages and language learning, this makes me so excited!
Percentage
We are still at 38%, but are excited that we are connecting with more churches in the Chicago area that are very interested in what God is doing in Germany through the Mosaik Movement. Please pray that God opens doors for partnerships with more churches and individuals so we can get to Germany and help this growing church planting movement. And we ask you to consider joining our monthly support team.
