We are packing our bags for Ohio! We haven’t really been able to do a whole lot of traveling for partnership development due to Covid, but are slowly getting to be able to do so again, especially since Jonas and I have our first does of our Covid Vaccine (second dose will be mid-May). Our time in Ohio will be short, but will keep us busy with meetings.
One of our missionary training requirements before moving to Germany is to do 4 weeks of cross cultural training in North Carolina. We can hardly believe that it is almost here! Our training will be the last week in May through the third week of June. It will be so interesting to adjust to a new place and new rhythms for a month.
I am a bit nervous how this will be for Emma. She is used to traveling and has been in 25 states and 3 countries, but so much of it was when she was a baby. With Covid, traveling has been quite limited obviously for everyone. We took a short weekend trip to the beach in Maryland a little over a month ago, and though fun, it was hard on her. She kept wanting to go back to “her camper van”. I know that we need preparation for our big move to Germany, but I feel more peaceful in regards to the permanent move than the four-week training! I think it helps that every day Emma excitedly talks about getting on a plane and moving to Germany!
Germany is currently on their hardest Covid lockdown yet, because cases keep rising and the vaccine rollout has been slow. But, we have heard that the EU is planning to let people who are vaccinated with the Covid vaccine in sometime this summer. We are hoping that we will be able to move this summer or fall!
We are currently at 64%! It is so encouraging to see the percentage continue to climb. We even had one financial partner unable to continue, but God made a way and another partner increased their support for the same amount! That is just how God works, isn’t it? 🙂
