Greetings to each of you and grace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Converge family, let me thank you for your faithfulness and for your heart to see the gospel reach people all over the world. As we continue this season of reflecting on our core values, I want to talk to you about being culturally diverse. This value reflects God’s heart for his church, a church made up of every tribe, nation and people united in Christ.
From our earliest days, Converge churches reached across ethnic, racial and cultural boundaries. That same calling remains with us today. We believe the gospel transcends culture and that the church is stronger and more beautiful when it reflects the diversity of what God created. We see this lived out as churches welcome new communities, raise up diverse leaders and partners across cultures for the sake of the gospel. We see it in global missions, in multi-ethnic congregations, in friendships formed across differences. This is the will of God.
This is who we are, a movement committed to unity in Christ, grounded in biblical truth and open to the spirit’s work among all peoples. And that is one of the things I’m most excited about as we gather for Converge Together Conference in just a few weeks. We will have the opportunity to see this beautiful diversity firsthand, brothers and sisters serving in different communities and context, all united by one mission, reaching the world for Jesus Christ.
It is going to be a powerful time of worship, encouragement and celebration as we remember what God has done. We’re going to give thanks for what He’s doing and we look ahead with faith to all He wants to continue to do through Converge. If you have not registered, I hope you will join us. We would love for you to be together with us. May the Lord bless you, guide you and fill you with hope as you serve his diverse and beautiful church. May he use you to reflect his love to a watching world.
God bless all of you and I hope to see you in June.
