Latin America

The Roman Catholic church is a strong cultural presence throughout Central and South America, though religiously its impact is felt to a lesser degree by its adherents, who essentially live without God except on special occasions. Socially, many of these countries face political corruption, poverty, drugs and gangs. Spiritual influences range from African spiritism in Brazil to Western European humanism in Uruguay. In spite of much poverty, the Church is alive and growing in these Latin cultures with vibrant worship. Converge workers utilize creative outreach tools and leadership training to plant churches, strengthen existing ones and help fulfill their dreams of sending workers into the harvest fields of the world.
