Story

Mike Gaston served with Converge International Ministries for 15 years as a church planter in Cameroon and France, allowing him to bring valuable first-hand experience to his role on the Converge Member Care Team. He provides pastoral care and encouragement to global workers from around the world. Until his wife Murf passed away in early 2025, they provided their home in beautiful Northern Arizona as a place of rest and refreshment through hospitality ministry. He now oversees a ministry that can handle multiple reservations at one time, provide free housing and rest in either a home setting near his house or in a beautiful camp setting elsewhere in Prescott. He has come to realize the value of Sabbath rest, and is eager to encourage his Converge colleagues to explore that gift and make it a regular part of their lives.

Mike only needs a part-time salary from Converge, so a larger percentage of donations to his ministry go directly to cover the costs of his travel and hospitality ministry as he cares for missionaries. The goal of his ministry is reflected in Philemon, verse 7, where Paul says to his friend, “The hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you.”

Our greatest privilege is joining Jesus in what he is building: his church. When we reach across the street and around the world with the gospel—locally and globally—we impact lives for eternity.
