Story
Jeff grew up in church, but as one who is Deaf, he was isolated and never received the good news of the gospel due to lack of communication. Thankfully, through a one-on-one conversation, he finally learned and accepted Jesus as his Savior at the age of 14. Mary Kathryn grew up hearing, but American Sign Language was her first language. Through watching her Deaf siblings struggle to get access to the gospel in churches and other places, she developed a passion to share the gospel with the Deaf.
With almost identical hearts for Deaf, one of the most unreached people groups in the world, Jeff and Mary Kathryn found each other and saw God's clear plan for them to serve Him as disciple makers and church planters throughout the Deaf community.
As part of Converge International's Deaf Catalyst Team, Jeff and Mary Kathryn are praying and asking God for a gospel movement among the Deaf people groups in our generation. Our goal is to multiply Deaf leaders through discipleship training and support churches in serving with these Deaf leaders, removing communication barriers to the gospel.
They are seeking ministry partners to join their team to pray, give and/or serve in reaching the Deaf with the message and demonstration of Jesus' love. Contrary to many Deaf people's belief, God DOES know their language and He created them perfectly in His image.
