Growing up in the church, Andrey always had a heart for missions. After taking several short-term trips to Tanzania, he was sure that this was something God was calling him to long-term. However, he didn't have a specific place in mind until he met Autumn, a then-new believer with Japan strongly on her heart. They began dating at the beginning of 2021 and God kept their passion for missions to Japan burning. After they were married in January 2022, they took a vision trip to Japan and met leaders with the Converge Japan Initiative. In 2023, they were officially appointed Converge global workers.

With eventual long-term work in Japan in mind, Andrey and Autumn will first complete a two-year domestic internship in which they will partner with a local church to do Japanese ministry stateside. During their internship, Andrey and Autumn hope to better discern their spiritual giftings, gain valuable insight and experience in cross-cultural ministry, and develop as leaders and disciple makers. They will pray expectantly that the Lord would work in unprecedented ways amongst the Japanese. Most of all, they pray that they would be ever-increasingly dependent on God, sensitive to the leadings of his Holy Spirit, and conformed to the image of his son Jesus.
