Savanna Boggess
Global Worker
Help Savanna serve in a residency program (2 years) in Togo, Africa working with the deaf program and the kids ministry.

Story
Savanna grew up in Myrtle Beach SC. She accepted Christ when she was fourteen years old. Three years later, and after a series of events, the Lord began to open Savanna’s heart to overseas missions. Knowing that Christ is the only one that can give true salvation and peace as well as the fact that to this day there are so many who have yet to hear a clear presentation of the gospel; she knew the Lord was calling her to serve overseas. In the summer of 2022 Savanna had the opportunity to serve as an intern with the Six Degree Initiative. Once returning home she began Converge’s process to move forward in returning to Togo as a two-year resident. In the Fall of 2022, Savanna was given a “green light” by Converge to move forward in her pursuit of joining the Six Degree Initiative team on the ground in Togo, West Africa.
The spiritual climate in Togo is dark. Togo is the birthplace of voodoo. It has been passed down from generation to generation for hundreds of years. The majority of the population in Togo actively practices voodoo and witchcraft. The Togolese are not mistaken on who they are worshipping. They are aware that they are worshipping Satan, and that their limited power comes from him. The Togolese live in a constant state of fear of the demons they and their families serve.
The vast majority of the Togolese have never heard a clear presentation of the gospel in their entire lives. They do not know who Jesus is or the power he has over Satan and his demons. It is vital that we engage with and train up this next generation of leaders to follow the one true God!
Savanna will be joining the Six Degree Initiative in order to help bring the light of the gospel to this dark area impacted by voodoo. One of Savanna’s roles will be to work within the Children’s Ministry. This will include partaking in and leading children’s church each Sunday as well as helping to schedule and run kids camps in the summer. Savanna will also have the opportunity to work within the Six Degree Initiative’s Deaf Project. The deaf population is currently the third most unreached people group in the world. The deaf community in Togo is in need of the gospel! Once in Togo, Savanna will start learning the language, begin building relationships with the local people, have opportunities to share the gospel, and help disciple those in the children’s and deaf ministry.
