Hello, my name is Yana Osipenko, and I would love to share my journey with you.
I was born in Lviv, Ukraine, and spent my early childhood in Chernihiv. At the age of eight, my family made the life-changing decision to move to the United States. Little did I know then that one day, I would return to Europe with a purpose I could never have imagined.
At sixteen, I made the life-altering decision to trust Christ for the forgiveness of my sins. From that moment, my heart was set on sharing the hope and truth I had found with those around me. As I grew in my faith, I developed a deep compassion for people and a passion for ministry, which led me to serve as a youth group leader and mentor to many young girls and teenagers.
As a young adult, I felt a strong calling to study God’s Word more deeply, as a result, I moved to Europe to attend a small Bible Institute in Hungary. After graduation, I was given a job to work both at the school where I had studied and in various missions across the region. Over the next nine years, I had the privilege of serving in ministry, pouring into others’ lives and getting a small glimpse of what God was doing in Europe.
After almost a decade in Hungary, I began to sense a shift in my heart. God was guiding me towards Poland, an unreached country in Europe. In 2018 I returned to the United States, seeking direction and waiting for the right doors to open to serve in Poland.
During this waiting period, I worked full-time and pursued further education at Cairn University. Eventually I was contacted by the President of Converge MidAtlantic about the 15:5 West Initiative in Poland.
In 2021, after much prayer and reflection, I attended a Missionary Assessment through Converge International Ministries and, in May of that year, said “yes” to God’s call to return to Poland. As a Ukrainian by birth, fluent in several slavic languages, it felt incredibly fitting to join Converge and be a part of the 15:5 West Initiative. God’s redemptive work is evident in my journey—He has used the places of my birth and the languages I speak to connect with and reach the nations. It is my joy to be a daughter of the King and to shine His bright light everywhere I go.
This is where I am today, with a heart full of passion for the people of Poland and a deep conviction that the fields are white for harvest. Your partnership in this work will allow me to bring the light of the Gospel to Poland and beyond, and together we can make a lasting impact for God’s Kingdom. Thank you for supporting this mission.
