Joyce Fleck has been serving with Converge in Thailand since January 2024 and is based in Udon Thani, in Northeast Thailand (Isaan). Her main ministry is working alongside Thai partners, reaching out to children and their communities so that more would know and worship Christ.
The vast majority of Thais identify as Buddhist, following a form of Buddhism involving spirit worship and making merit. Only around 1-2% of Thailand’s 70 million people are Christians, and less than 1% among the ethnic Thai majority. While many Thais are open to hearing the gospel preached, it can be very hard for Thai people to let go of what they have previously known and been taught and their identity as Buddhist to turn to follow Christ alone.
Please pray for Thai hearts to be open to the gospel, that God would be drawing people to himself. Pray for whole families and communities to turn to Christ. Pray for more laborers to be sent out, and for more leaders to be raised up among the Thai people. Pray for faithfulness, endurance, and unity among believers. Pray for clear communication and deep relationships with the Thai people. And pray for people to see Christ in Joyce’s life and in the lives of fellow Christians and be drawn to him. Thank you!

Please consider partnering with me and the Thailand team through prayer and financial support so that God’s word would go forth in Thailand! Let me know if you are interested in serving personally, and I can help you get connected. My work in Thailand started with a short-term mission/ vision trip, and I know there are lots of opportunities available for short-, mid-, and long-term service.
For more specific prayer requests and updates, or if you are interested in serving in Thailand, please contact me at joycef [at] converge.org. I would love to hear from you!
