About Us

Jonathan and Erin Mathews have served as Global Workers since 2005. Jonathan grew up in Brazil as a missionary kid and later returned with Erin to plant churches in the government housing projects of São Paulo. For more than two decades on the field, Jonathan has equipped, mobilized, and developed leaders to advance the gospel among the nations. He directed the Southern Cone Initiative from 2017 to 2025 and has served as a movement multiplication trainer in South Asia and throughout South America.

Today he focuses on starting networks of multiplying churches across the Caribbean and Latin America, and he helps U.S. churches develop pathways for global missions engagement.

Jonathan is from Findlay, OH, and Erin is from Nashville, TN. They have been married since 2002 and have five children: Samuel, Jesse, and Abigail at Cedarville University; Hannah (15) in 10th grade; and Benjamin (13) in 8th grade.

Partner With Us

Every new church planted, every leader trained, and every sending church equipped is made possible by people who give. Your financial partnership puts trainers in classrooms in São Paulo and Santo Domingo, sustains national leaders who are starting churches in their own communities, and helps U.S. congregations take their first real steps toward the nations.

It is ordinary generosity that fuels a gospel movement. Together we can see more people in more places meet, know, and follow Jesus.
