Around the world, more than 3 billion people in over 6,000 people groups remain unreached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The church is charged with making disciples of all peoples (Matthew 28:18-20), but over 50% of Christians in the US could not identify the Great Commission, according to a recent Barna survey. Which means our churches are not all going to the Nations.

The U.S. Engagement Team was formed to help bring awareness to the church of the great need to reach those who have not yet heard the good news and to empower them to join in making disciples of all nations. I am joining the U.S. Engagement Team to work in mobilizing and equipping churches for greater involvement in fulfilling the Great Commission, and my primary focus is in mobilizing the church to pray – especially for missionaries and least-reached people groups.

I am passionate about seeing the church grow in prayer! Since joining the US Engagement Team, I have been working with Converge global prayer network leaders, coordinated three 24 Hours of Prayer events, and helped develop a 21-day prayer guide for Converge. I join many of the online prayer calls for our global workers, and I also lead the prayer team for the Hui Initiative.

We know that every major movement of God has been preceded by a movement of prayer, which is why I am passionate about mobilizing the church to pray. Converge’s dependence on God is evident in the first 4 words of our vision statement – We are asking God for a gospel movement among every least—reached people group – in our generation.
