Japan is my home, but for the last 29 years, God has been shaping my life in the United States.

I was born into a Christian family in Japan, with ancestors who served as evangelists in Hokkaido. In 1997, I moved to Boston to pursue my dream of becoming a world-class guitar player. But in 1998, after a violent robbery at gunpoint, God used that painful experience to open my heart to the gospel. What was meant for evil, God redeemed for good. I became a follower of Jesus, and my life has never been the same.

Now, after nearly three decades in America, I believe God is calling me back to Japan, not simply to return to my home country, but to join what He is doing there.

I am joining Converge International Ministries and the Japan Initiative Team because we are asking God for a gospel movement among the Japanese people in our generation. Japan remains one of the largest unreached nations in the world, and millions of Japanese people still have little meaningful opportunity to hear, understand, and respond to the good news of Jesus.
