When Ethel Aliño’s family of eleven was assisted by World Vision Philippines her mother discovered faith in Jesus Christ, leading her family to follow Him too. After high school Ethel worked for six years in an electronics factory and there realized God was calling her to serve Him. She graduated with honors from Bible college, worked in a Christian school and church for a year after graduation, and then spent two fruitful years in Thailand as a missionary intern working with Converge missionaries at Santisuk English School in Bangkok.

Returning to the Philippines she completed a masters degree in religious education and in 2004 became one of the first appointees of Bethlehem Star of Peace (BSOP). BSOP recruits, trains, and sends highly qualified Filipinos to engage unreached peoples in Southeast Asia. Ethel has served for many years as the Treasurer of Bethlehem Star of Peace Thailand.

In January 2005 she returned to Bangkok to work with the original Santisuk (Peace) English School (SES) and the Santisuk churches. Currently Santisuk is expanding from seven English centers to fifteen Bangkok locations by 2025. Bethlehem Star of Peace personnel serve alongside Converge fieldworkers in Santisuk schools and churches in Bangkok.

Today Dr. Aliño teaches English conversation, practices friendship evangelism, disciples Thai seekers and believers, coaches English Center leaders, trains American volunteer teachers, serves in the leadership of the SES movement, cooks, bakes and does whatever she can to attract people to Jesus and facilitate their spiritual growth.
