Story

As a short-term missionary of Bethlehem Star of Peace (BSOP) in 2006-07 Bing made several trips out of Thailand to renew her visa. She visited Cambodia twice and saw the great need there. She also saw God at work and wanted to be part of what He is doing to reach the Khmer people. After Bing tested her cross-cultural gifts in Buddhist Thailand, she followed God’s call as a career missionary to Cambodia. Her strongest gift in Thailand proved to be evangelism; she had part in 16 Thai people making decisions to follow Christ in her year of ministry there!
Since 2008 Mary Jane has served with BSOP in Cambodia where she has not only done personal evangelism but has exercised her gifts of classroom teaching and administration as part of Legacy of Hope, International (LOHI). Besides seeing LOHI train Cambodian leaders, expand their ministries, and build an amazing campus, Bing was a major catalyst in starting a new local church and two rural outreaches that are becoming churches also!
In 2020 Bing is again following God’s leading in recruiting young Cambodians to join her in starting Shine. The vision of Shine is to begin a movement that will result in cell churches spreading across Northwest Cambodia. The Shine team will begin in 2020 in Battambang and be intentional in all of the activities and strategies they do—starting cell churches and multiplying disciples. Pray for Mary Jane Aragon as she recruits and leads others in carrying out this God-sized mission.

Cambodia // In the past ten years Mary Jane has discipled dozens of young Cambodians. She is here with her first church plant--WABC church. Many of the members were her former students, her co-teachers, or her friends who found Jesus. Now she will step away from concentrating on teaching English and focus on doing more discipleship and church planting. Battambang City has a population of 140,000 and the province has about one million. Fewer than 2% of these Khmer people are followers of Jesus. Most know little or nothing about Him and His great love for them.
