Discipleship Pastor

Ignite Church is seeking a Discipleship Pastor to lead our groups ministry and oversee all things disciple-making in the church. The mission of Ignite is to help people DISCOVER new life in Christ, DEVELOP into passionate followers of Jesus, and DEPLOY to impact their world for Christ. The Discipleship Pastor is the champion of the “Develop” portion of our mission, while teaching regularly, overseeing several areas of the ministry, and serving more broadly within the team.

Position Specifics

Be the point leader for all things discipleship in the church.
Be a part of the Teaching Team; bringing relevant, impactful, Spirit empowered messages to the church at least 10-15 times per year.
Partner with the Lead Pastor in teaching seminars, workshops, and trainings that help equip leaders, volunteers and the church for growing
Lead the Groups Ministry (in partnership with volunteer Ministry Leader/ team) by overseeing, recruiting, and training an ever-increasing base of group leaders and apprentices who will do the work of discipling the members of their group and also provide overall directional support, coaching, and mentoring as needed.
Oversee and provide directional leadership and coaching to Ministry Leaders in the areas of men’s, women’s, kid’s, and youth ministry to help ensure that disciples are being made throughout all ministries.
Partner with Lead Pastor to develop leaders in every level of Ignite. (We believe that leadership development and spiritual formation are intertwined).
Operates as a self-starter who is able to recognize and act on needs/gaps/opportunities to move the ministry, teams, and the mission of Ignite forward (in conjunction with the rest of the staff team).
