The City Context
Chișinău is absorbing tens of thousands of young people every year as rural-to-urban migration accelerates. Many arrive after 9th or 12th grade from villages where churches have invested years in their formation. They land in the capital without community, without a relational network, and — unless something catches them — without a next step. The city is growing. The percentage of evangelical Christians remains below 1%. The churches that exist are scattered and mostly not structured to receive this wave of young newcomers.
This project is built around three connected objectives that move from immediate youth engagement to long-term spiritual formation and multiplication. First, the Hub will create a welcoming landing place for young people arriving in Chișinău. From that relational base, the ministry will develop a church plant rooted in discipleship, families, and emerging young leaders. Finally, the same space and ministry model will serve as a training platform for pastors and local leaders across Moldova, strengthening the capacity of churches to reproduce sustainable ministry in their own communities
- Objective 1 — Launch the Hub: A functioning Youth Hub with weekly open outreach, discipleship groups, and a growing community of 30–50 regular participants.
- Objective 2 — Plant a church: An established church planting movement, gathering weekly, with a core team of families and young leaders, progressing toward a self-sustaining congregation — the first of what both Converge and YFCM intend to replicate across Moldova.
- Objective 3 — Train local leaders: A pastor training track serving churches across Moldova — building local capacity for sustainable ministry multiplication.
