Jon was born Deaf and grew up attending church without an interpreter, which resulted in him never knowing about God in his heart language, American Sign Language. Jon finally understood and believed the Good News of Jesus after attending a Deaf church as an adult. God instilled in him a passion for other Deaf to know God in their heart language. Lori is hearing and God gave her a love for American Sign Language as a child. God also gave her a love for Deaf people and a passion for them to know Jesus.

God first called Jon and Lori to be Deaf church planters. Their Deaf church in Connecticut is one of three Deaf churches in all of New England. The Deaf is considered a least-reached people group since less than 2% of Deaf people are believers. Jon and Lori see the great need for more Deaf churches in New England and around the world.

Now God has called Jon and Lori to work with Converge and the Deaf Catalyst Team to see a gospel movement among the Deaf. They expectantly believe God will multiply Deaf believers and Deaf leaders so that more Deaf churches will be planted and more Deaf souls won to Christ.
