Converge welcomed 12 missionary candidates to its Missionary Discovery & Assessment in Orlando, Florida, March 7-10, 2023. This candidate group include people from various ethnic backgrounds, ages and stages in life who want to reach the world’s least-reached people groups with the gospel through our [IM]PACT Residency & long-term service. They are interested in serving in the United States and abroad.
Missionary Discovery & Assessment is a Sprit-led time for candidates to discover more about God, themselves, others and their call to ministry. During the three and half days, Converge assessors evaluated the candidates for spiritual, emotional and relational health and suitability for serving cross-culturally worldwide. This week:
- Eight candidates received a “Go,” which means they are ready to serve in cross-cultural ministry with some recommended preparation.
- Two candidates received a “Prepare,” which means they need to engage in long-term preparations before serving cross-culturally.
- Two candidates received a “Stay.” The candidates were given some extensive next-steps and an open door to work through the assessment process again once the recommended actions were completed.
We are asking God for a gospel movement among every least reached people group ― in our generation. To see God accomplish this vision, we are preparing to deploy more than 350 global workers over the next five years. Learn how you can play a part in reaching people across the street and around the world with the gospel.
