The Great Sea Initiative
We are asking God for a Gospel movement among every least-reached people group in the nations surrounding the Mediterranean Sea — in our generation. We are intentionally pursuing gospel movements in the following ways:
- Targeting strategic urban centers – cities that influence the culture.
- Focusing on muslim people – in Islamic nations and in Muslim communities in Europe.
- Reaching marginalized communities – making disciples among the deaf; those with emotional, cognitive, or physical hinderances; and those in extreme poverty.
In all areas we will develop local leaders; advancing indigenous ownership of generational disciple making.
By faith in ten years we will have:
- Movements begun in 50% of the nations.
- Initial work and defined strategies among identified unreached groups in 25% of the nations.
- Leaders identified for specific unreached groups in the remaining 25% of the nations.
North Macedonia: Long Term
Gospel Movement Catalyst – Be on the frontlines of a Gospel movement with our team in North Macedonia. The Albanian speaking population of 500,000+ people has no known church. Evangelism and enduring as an ambassador for ethnic reconciliation will be key to your success. Can you give your life to anything better?
North Macedonia: Short Term
Specialized Internship – You will have the chance to use the passion and skill God has given you to serve in the advancement of the Gospel. Skills in TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language), children’s ministry, construction, medicine, teaching/preaching and more are needed to build the Kingdom in North Macedonia.
North Macedonia: Ministry Trip
Ministry trainers – Churches in North Macedonia need equipping and encouragement. Training members of small churches in skills such as preaching, worship, children’s ministry, or summer camps is a great felt need of the community. If you are gifted at sharing what God has called you to do, come and pass it on.
North Macedonia: Impact Trip
Impact team: Teams will have the chance to share about Jesus with kids from a culture that has no church. VBS style camps during a week of the summer is an unforgettable experience that will draw you closer to God and give you the opportunity to change the eternity of someone else.

Reaching the least-reached of the Nordic-Baltic
The Nordic-Baltic Initiative is a work that began in 2010 to reach the under-reached nations of Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. There are future possibilities in Russian areas of the Baltics.
In each of these countries, less than 2% of the population claim to be evangelical believers. A 2011 BBC report called Estonia the world’s least religious country. A staggering 86% of Estonians profess atheism.
The difficulty is the hardness of hearts in the Nordic-Baltic. Bill Ankerberg says, “There is more spiritual resistance in this region than anywhere I have ever ministered in my 47+ years as a pastor.” But there is hope and momentum in the region! Converge has been developing strategic partnerships in each of these nations; we have built relationships with the Baptist presidents in five of the seven countries. Converge churches are working with the New Life Church network in Stockholm, the Baltic Pastoral Institute in Latvia, and the Baptist Union and Josiah Venture in Estonia. There are plans to plant two new churches in Stockholm, three in Latvia and five in Estonia. Numerous Christian summer camp programs are active in these countries.
Six Converge missionaries serve in the region: four in Estonia and two in Sweden. In addition, five stateside leaders work significantly in the region through training, discipling and mobilizing.
Converge has been working for 20 years in Estonia. We have very strong relationships in the country. We are spreading out from this to the surrounding countries. Our vision is threefold, and we have agreed on this with our countries and signed a covenant with Sweden, Estonia, Finland and Latvia to state this in writing:
- Church planting
- Pastoral and leadership care and development
- Raising up a generation of spiritual champions (youth ministry)
Connect with the consortium
In support of the vision of asking God for a gospel movement among every least-reached people group in our generation, Converge International Ministries has committed to establishing and building initiatives, projects and strategic partnerships throughout the world. To help accomplish this vision, we want to connect North American churches in networks called consortia for shared prayer and missional effort toward the least-reached peoples of the world. Together, we will provide unprecedented support and cooperation among our churches, missionaries and national partners.
Join us in the consortium network for the Baltics encompassing the countries of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Cooperation, communication, prayer and shared engagement will be keystones of the Baltic Consortium. Your church could play a pivotal role in seeing gospel movements flourish all across the Baltics.

15:5 West Initiative
We are asking God for a gospel movement among the 15 largest cities in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia that will also plant gospel communities in at least five unreached villages around each of these cities.Four Areas of Ministry Focus: As we look to catalyze gospel movements in the 15 largest cities, we will focus on four key areas of ministry.
- Community Engagement: Sharing the truths of the gospel by meeting practical needs in our local communities.
- Discipleship/Church Planting: Implementing strategies of discipleship multiplication to start new churches and strengthen existing ones.
- Leadership Development: Encouraging and coaching leaders to multiply disciples and churches.
- Collaboration: Developing partnerships and promoting strategic teamwork among evangelical churches and ministries.
The 15:5 West Consortium (4+ years)
The 15:5 West Consortium is a group of churches networked together with a ministry focus on Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Through the greater connectedness with other like-minded churches, a platform for greater support and engagement with global workers and national partners is developed. We desire for this consortium to provide more meaningful pathways for your church to engage in global ministry. Would you consider joining the growing network of churches that are asking God for a gospel movement in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia?
