JOB TITLE:  Sunday Morning Children’s Ministry Coordinator



The Sunday Morning Children’s Ministry Coordinator is a 10 hour part-time position that will oversee the Sunday Morning educational experiences for children pre-k through 5th grade.


The spiritual formation of children and families is a priority at MapleRidge Church. This will be reflected in programming that intentionally creates spaces for moments of awe and wonder in the presence of God that leads to life transformation in community with other followers of Jesus through practices of Scripture, silence, solitude, and service. 



  1. Shall work with and directly under the supervision of the Minister of Children and Family Life or Senior Pastor.
  2. Shall participate as a team member of the Children’s Education committee.
  3. Shall communicate with parents/guardians of children



To oversee and implement Sunday Morning children’s education opportunities by:

  1. Recruiting and equipping volunteer leaders
  2. Creating or finding age-appropriate children’s curriculum that ministers to children at their various levels of spiritual interest and encourages children to take the next step in their spiritual development.
  3. Communicate with families of program participants
  4. To conduct and securely file risk assessments of all volunteers who work with minors.
  5. To work within the budget set for Sunday morning Children’s programming.



  1. Be a growing Christian, committed to Jesus Christ, and confident of God’s call to serve as a children’s minster in the local church.
  2. A passion and love for our children and families; to see them grow in their faith together.
  3. Be spiritually qualified according to the biblical standard of leadership (I Timothy 3:1-13; II Timothy 2; Titus 1-2).
  4. Become a member of MapleRidge Church in agreement with our doctrinal statement, and committed to our mission statement, vision statement and core values.
  5. Have the necessary training and proven competence in their area of responsibility.
  6. A spiritual leader who is relational, mature, a clear communicator, and able to connect with children and adults.
  7. Must submit to a criminal record background check.
