About Friendship Church

The Worship Associate supports the Friendship Church Worship Ministry and Worship Pastor through their leading of Sunday Morning worship teams and supporting the Worship Pastor in carrying out the vision and values of the worship ministry.

Friendship Church has two campuses; one in Prior Lake and one in Shakopee. Both campuses have a Lead Campus Pastor and features live worship and preaching every week. This position will primarily operate out of the Shakopee Campus, but may be asked to be at the Prior Lake Campus. This is a part-time position equaling about 10 hours per week.

Character

  • Have a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and regularly articulate that relationship.

  • Have a desire for spiritual growth, accountability and corporate worship.
  • Lead volunteers and congregation members through an example of Godly character.

 

Responsibilities         

Leading

  • Aid the Worship Pastor in recruiting and overseeing the worship teams that lead music in the worship services.
  • Care for the members of the worship teams and their families.
  • Lead and/or oversee Sunday Morning team meetings and devotionals.
  • Lead worship team rehearsals at one of the two campuses, preparing the team to lead the congregation musically.
  • Lead the worship team at one of the two campuses as they facilitate musical praise for the congregation.
  • Must be willing to lead at either campus. The Worship Associate will have a primary campus, but may occasionally be called upon to lead their non-primary campus when needed.
  • Communicate with all participants in the service ahead of time so that they know their role in the service and the details involved in that role.
  • Assist in leading seasonal and special services (i.e. Thanksgiving Wednesday, Christmas Eve, Good Friday). Helping to lead special services, such as weddings and funerals, is also highly sought after and appreciated.

 

Planning

  • Work with the Worship Pastor to plan any special services or seasonal services.
  • Work with the Worship Pastor in the selection of music that is connects with the heart, teaches biblical truth and celebrates God and the gospel.

 

Creative

  • Have a heart for songwriting with writing team. The Worship Ministry at Friendship Church aims to support the congregation with songs written from within the hearts of our own members to praise and glorify God.

 

Qualifications

  • Meets the Biblical qualifications for a wise leader and filled by the Holy Spirit found in Acts 6.
  • Experience leading worship.
  • A heart for spiritual formation for those in the congregation and in the worship ministry.
  • A commitment to team leadership and building teams.
  • A commitment to the Worship Ministry Vision & Values.
  • Strong collaborative and communication skills.
  • Strong musical understanding and a good singing voice.
  • The ability to lead from an instrument is preferred, but not required.
  • Skilled in the use of technology in worship.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Experience managing volunteers.
