A Veterans Day Note of Gratitude to Our Chaplains

Veterans Day

Dear Chaplains,

Today America honors our nation’s veterans in celebration of Veterans Day. Our gratitude and praise begins with remembrances of heroism, bravery, duty and honor to those who fought to win our freedoms in battles past and wars of long ago. Yet we must stay focused on the truth that over the past 26 years America has continued to send her Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coasties into harm’s way to sustain the reality that ours is the land of the free and the home of the brave.

I want to express the gratitude and appreciation of your Converge leadership (president Scott Ridout and vice president of National Ministries, Dr. Michael Henderson) to you who serve gallantly taking care of our men and women in the Armed Forces and their families both, during and following active service. Many of them often find themselves wanting for care and support. Solution? Enter the chaplain.

Our active duty, Reserve and National Guard chaplains are at the forefront of being present with service personnel and their families. Standing proudly directly with them are our chaplains in the Veterans Administration, taking care of those seriously wounded, physically and morally, from the wars and conflicts since the early 1990s. Positioned alongside military and VA chaplains, Converge institutional chaplains are all too often our unsung servants of God, silently and compassionately ministering as caregivers to veterans and their families in hospitals and health care facilities. To all of you, please know that everyone in Converge greatly appreciates, admires, respects and honors your ministry.

May you know God’s blessings for your service as chaplains while our nation celebrates Veterans Day.

On behalf of all Converge staff in Arlington Heights and Orlando, I salute you for your commitment, dedication, service and selfless devotion of taking care of God’s children.

With gratitude,

George C. Paul

CAPT, CHC, USN (Ret), Converge Chaplain Endorser
