Long-time chaplin enters retirement and new role

Boyd Cliff Short

Ch. Lt. Col. Boyd “Cliff” Short is entering retirement today with a celebration ceremony at Dyess Air Force Base in Texas. Short has served in the U.S. Air Force since 1976 and has been part of the Converge Worldwide family for many years.

During his time in the Air Force, he served as the Deputy Command Chaplain and Deputy Director of Religious Affairs for the Combined Task Force at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Horn of Africa and was selected as the 2013 Air Combat Command Large Chapel Organization of the Year. Short also oversaw a multi-million dollar chapel renovation.

Most recently, he served as Wing Chaplain for the 7th Bomb Wing at Dyess Air Force Base. He and his wife, Dona, will be relocating to Bellevue, Neb. to be near their sons. Short recently accepted the interim pastor position at Center Baptist Church in Omaha, Neb., providing what he believes will be a good way to pave the transition from military life back into civilian life and ministry.
