Adults Re-Ignite their lives

The Re-Ignite Retreat at Lakeside Christian Camp, Pittsfield, Mass., October 7-9, was set in the splendor of fall foliage colors mirrored in the lake. Midlife and older adults gathered to explore God’s purpose for their lives. A glimpse into what God did as he re-ignited the passions and dreams of a generation:

  • Participants came from Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. They ranged in age from 32 to 66, most in their 50s and 60s. Nearly all were at some point of transition – anticipating or recently retiring, adjusting to losses such as divorce or the death of a loved one or moving into new careers or living arrangements.
  • The retreat engaged participants in a profound and personal experiential process to clarify God’s purpose for their lives. They reflected on their life journeys, identified their unique personality types, spiritual gifts, values and passions and began to dream a new dream for the next steps of life.
  • Richard and Leona Bergstrom, co-directors of Converge 2nd ½ Ministries, facilitated the retreat. Bob Thompson led worship.

The event was jointly planned and sponsored by leaders from Converge Northeast, Elim Park Continuing Care Community, Converge 2nd ½ Ministries and Lakeside Camp. For more information on hosting a Re-Ignite Retreat in your church or region, email
