I have been serving in Bangkok with Converge missionaries, Steve and Nopaluck Cable, since 2002. Currently, I am the director of Santisuk English School, founded by Steve Cable in 1993. Only 0.4 percent of ethnic Thai are Christians. At Santisuk, we reach Thai with the gospel is by engaging them in something they are very interested in — learning and improving their English skills!
This was the main method used to plant Peace Fellowship Church, which is now primary led by the Thai who were our former Buddhist students! The church and the school continue to work together to reach more Thai for Christ.
Although I've been involved in school leadership and administration for a long time, as well as overseeing the curriculum, I still love being in the classroom with the students and teaching. However, the greatest joy for me is working with our Thai believers to help someone come to faith in Christ and also teaching Bible to young believers. The picture above was recently taken on the day a Thai friend came to Christ.
We are in great need of short-term missionaries year-round (one-month minimum commitment, full teacher training and orientation provided on the field) and also mid-term and long-term missionaries to help us fulfill the Bangkok 15:25 vision.
Greater things are yet to come! (Do you know that the popular song, God of this City, was actually written in Pattaya, Thailand?)
