About Cornerstone Baptist Church
Cornerstone Baptist Church is a healthy and vital church situated in the beautiful resort town of Ludington, MI, on the shores of Lake Michigan. We have one of the top ten beaches in North America and abundant outdoor sports and wildlife. Ludington has 8,000 year-round residents, (doubling during the summer months) and 26,000 in Mason County proper. Cornerstone Baptist Church has a long and strong history dating back to the 1870’s when the Church was established on Washington Avenue and Danaher Streets by the Reverend Peter Jentoft. Originally the First Scandinavian Baptist Church, then the First Swedish Baptist Church, then Washington Avenue Baptist Church to today’s Cornerstone Baptist Church, generations of dedicated servant congregants have withstood the tests of time and endured to bring the Gospel to this community and provide a global outreach as well. We are a church of people who are warm, friendly and inviting who care about each other.
We have an average Sunday morning attendance of between 320 and 400 (adults and children). This multi-generational church has a regional outreach and a strong global impact. In 2004, we moved into our new church campus complete with a 700-seat sanctuary, adult and children’s classrooms and large fellowship hall.
We have an existing staff of very talented and engaging people in the following positions: Associate Pastor, Pastor of Student Ministries, Children and Family Ministries Director, Worship Leader Team, Assimilation and Discipleship Director, Office Manager and Creative Tech.
We are blessed to be debt free with a solid financial base. We serve many families in our community through ministries such as a very active food pantry, AWANA clubs, MOPS, Hospitality, Inc. and more.
We are looking for a servant leader; a shepherd who is highly relational and persuasive, with a clear vision for local, regional and global ministry. He will need to have strong communication skills (both in the pulpit and interpersonally), a calling for developing new leaders, a passion for reaching people far from God, and the ability to motivate others to be a part of God’s redemptive cause. He will need to understand and work with our existing partnerships with Converge MidAmerica and Converge Worldwide.
