Story
As a girl in Cabacungan, Negros, Ann committed her life to serving God. She began by helping her local church, then she completed Bible college, and served as a Bethlehem Star of Peace (BSOP) fieldworker among unreached tribal peoples in the restless southern Philippines. After completing a three-year term, Ann returned to Cebu City and taught in a Christian school. However, she felt that God wanted to use her gifts to go to unreached people groups in a foreign land. In 2015 she joined BSOP’s Team Cambodia.
In Cambodia after completing formal language study, Ann moved from Battambang City to a smaller town and district, Thomokol, about 30 minutes north of the city. She partners with one of the few churches in Battambang Province where her work concentrates on reaching and discipling youth. Weekdays, she also tutors kids in her community and interacts with their families. There is a small Bible Institute in Thomokol district where Ann has been used to teach one subject each week.

Six of Ann's students recently were baptized, publicly declaring their commitment to Jesus as his lifelong followers. Sunday afternoons dozens of young Cambodians gather in her church for spiritual nurture as well as fellowship and fun. Ann’s town of Thomokol has over 10,000 residents and her district (one of 10 districts within Battambang province) has a population of over 100,000. About 1.9% of the population is Christian. The other 98% know almost nothing about Jesus, his life, and his love for the Cambodian people.
